Cuban Vice President arrives in Ethiopia on an official visit

Addis Ababa, Nov 18 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Vice President Salvador Valdés arrived in Ethiopia on Saturday night on an official visit, the third stopover in a tour of several African countries, the local Foreign Ministry reported.

Upon arrival at the Bole International Airport in this capital, Valdés was welcomed by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mesganu Arga, who highlighted the construction of a solid foundation between both countries for a long-standing relationship translated into cooperation in fields such as medicine and education.

During his stay, the Cuban leader will meet with senior officials of the Ethiopian Government, the Foreign Ministry noted.

Valdés arrived from Guinea Bissau. Previously, he had visited Ghana.

He highlighted on his X account that “relations between Cuba and this sister nation in the Horn of Africa are based on solidarity and respect.”

Cuba’s official delegation also includes the First Deputy Minister of Public Health, Tania Margarita Cruz, and the Deputy Director General of Bilateral Affairs at the Foreign Ministry, Angel Villa.

Vice President Valdés will end his tour in Rwanda.
