According to the website www.acn.cu, the workshop will be attended by French experts in such areas as aeronautics and metallurgy, and members of the General Confederation of Labor (CGT), who will formalize a collaboration project during the event to train union inspectors and will visit centers of economic interest.
Gustavo Vargas, director of human capital at the Matanzas-based Empresa Provincial de Alojamiento, which sponsors the event, said that the meeting will allow presenting the results of studies to create safer working environments.
Up to date, some 20 papers have been received for discussion at the University of Matanzas (UM) and the headquarters of Cuban Workers’ Confederation (CTC) in this province, said Vargas, who is a member of the organizing committee.
UM Professor Yoel Almeda pointed out that the academic exchange can contribute to make solutions visible to improve the context in which employees of strategic sectors such as tourism, particularly in hotels, work.
