This action aims to preserve the Venezuelans’ right to choose and protect with their vote the inalienable rights over Guyana’s Essequibo region, Parliament President Jorge Rodríguez wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
In a sentence published on Thursday evening, the highest court invalidated any decision or material act of national or foreign individuals and legal entities or international organizations and States that “disregard, impede, or intend to hinder” Venezuela’s rights.
Also, the right to participate in the consultative referendum to be held on December 3, approved by the Parliament and called by the National Electoral Council (CNE) in defense of Guyana’s Essequibo region.
The ruling emphasized that any such action against sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity “has no validity or legal effect,” therefore, it must be disregarded “by all bodies exercising public power, and all individuals or legal entities.”
