The Ministry indicated that the parties reached an agreement after a meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission for Cooperation in Trade, Economy, Science and Technology between the two countries.
Russia and the DPRK agreed that gold, rare earths, and iron are the minerals to be explored.
The note also indicated that the department for subsoil use of the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources will develop a geological exploration plan, as soon as the North Korean side provides the necessary geophysical maps.
On November 15th, Pyongyang hosted the 10th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission for Cooperation in Trade, Economy, Science and Technology between Russia and the DPRK, proposed by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
