Three days before the second round of the general elections, the Mothers and Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo, who recovered grandchildren, relatives of the victims of the last civil-military dictatorship (1976-1983), and militants of Unión por la Patria (UP) will denounce the denialism promoted by La Libertad Avanza (LLA) party, and will advocate preserving the achievements of the last 40 years.
Under the motto “Now more than ever, Never Again”, mobilizations will take place in the Plaza de Mayo and Plaza Miserere, Congreso de Tucumán and Constitución
The Hijos group urged unity and invited citizens to wear white scarves, symbols of the fight for the appearance of 30 thousand detainees-disappeared during the military regime.
In statements to the Télam news agency, the representative and recovered granddaughter Victoria Montenegro stated that the initiative will contribute to the defense of collective memory and will allow rapprochement with those who still have doubts about what path to follow in decisive hours for Argentina.
“We must urgently question those who have not yet defined their vote. This Sunday we must defend democracy and the struggle of Mothers and Grandmothers. We have to convince those who have not made up their mind yet not to back down,” she said.
