Venezuela recalled the 35th anniversary of Palestinian Independence

Caracas, Nov 15 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro today remembered the 35th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of Palestine, which occurred, he said, being a victim of genocide.

In his account X, formerly Twitter, the head of state reiterated the ‘call to the world to move forward in a peace agreement to stop the raid’. Only together we will be able to put an end to this ‘horrendous crime’ against humanity, he affirmed.

A few days ago, the Venezuelan president called to stop the genocide and to establish a world conference that allows to return ‘the rights to peace, to the territory, to independence and to a state of their own to the Palestinian people’.

On November 15, 1988, the leader of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Yasser Arafat, proclaimed in Algeria the Declaration of Independence, which was drafted by the Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish.

On that date, the Palestinian National Council, the legislative body of the PLO, issued the Declaration in which it declared Jerusalem to be the eternal capital of Palestine.

The Palestinian State is recognized today by 139 countries, however, the Israeli occupation persists, which is currently carrying out an aggression in the Gaza Strip with hundreds of thousands of civilian victims, mostly children and women.
