In a dispatch published today by the state news agency KCNA, the CEO blamed the mechanism, and in particular the U.S., for several of the conflicts rocking the world and for insulting the principles of impartiality and equality it claims to uphold.
He cited as examples the supply of sophisticated weapons to Ukraine, some of them banned by international conventions; support for Israel’s slaughter of Palestinian civilians; the deployment of forces in the South China Sea; and rising tensions on the Korean Peninsula. Jo Chol Su also disqualified the joint statement recently adopted by the Group in Japan as it “gravely infringes upon the dignity and sovereignty of the DPRK” and raises the risks of a nuclear confrontation in the region.
He pointed out that such events reveal that the G7 undermines peace and stability in the world, revives the Cold War, and is the main obstacle to the establishment of a just international order.
The G7 does not represent the international community and has lost all reason to exist, he stressed.
