“With tribute to the history of Ghana, we begin the second day of activities in this nation: all honors on behalf of #Cuba for Kwame Nkrumah, first president of Ghana. We laid white flowers at the memorial park dedicated to preserving his memory,” Valdés Mesa wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Later, he met with Parliament Speaker Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin and a group of parliamentarians, a meeting the Cuban leader described as moving and touching because of the experiences that united Ghana with Cuba.
Bagbin expressed that Cuba is one of the most resilient countries globally and has the respect, besides being an inspiration for sending doctors and the fight against malaria and other diseases.
He stressed that Ghana and Cuba must be together to build a new governance structure in a new order of words that leaves no one behind.
Ghana is the first stop on a tour that will last until November 22 and includes Guinea Bissau, Rwanda, and Ethiopia.
The official Cuban delegation also includes First Deputy Health Minister Tania Margarita Cruz Hernández and Deputy Director General of Bilateral Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ángel Villa Hernández.
