The Pakistan-China Sea Guardian 2023 maritime exercise will help enhance security cooperation and develop a multi-dimensional strategic partnership, Pakistan Navy’s Commodore Asim Sohail Malik and Chinese People’s Liberation Army (Navy) Senior Captain Qi Jian said at a joint press briefing.
Both officials agreed on the importance of the exercise in opening new ways for future maritime cooperation against common threats in the region.
Malik stressed the powerful and strategic relations between the two countries, and the Pakistan-China Sea Guardian 2023 maritime exercise will further strengthen the time-tested and decades-long bilateral friendship.
Qi Jian added that preparations will make both navies stronger to combat terrorism and crimes at sea, promote efforts for a secure maritime environment, and defend the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
