The arrests took place at homes and checkpoints, while others surrendered to the Israeli aggressors after holding family members hostage, cited a report by the government of this country, quoted by the Wafa News Agency.
Human rights groups denounced that those detained by Tel Aviv troops were beaten and their homes ransacked, among other abuses.
In the last few days, massive arrests were reported in the governorates of Jerusalem, Ramallah and Hebron, as well as in areas such as Jericho, Nablus, Qalqiya and Jenin.
The media reported, that this Monday the Israeli army continued its air, sea and land bombardments against several areas in the Gaza Strip, while maintaining the siege of several hospitals that house numerous refugees and wounded.
In the face of this situation, the Palestinian government again called on the United Nations Security Council to take urgent measures to halt Israel’s war against the Gaza Strip and annexation of the West Bank.
In order to preserve its remaining credibility to carry out its mandated tasks, the aforementioned UN body must implement urgent actions, said a statement from the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry.
