“We held an important meeting with authorities and representatives of social organizations from the department of Beni, with whom we finalized an important work agenda with a view to celebrating the anniversary (…),” President Luis Arce wrote on his social networks, adding that Bolivia is ready to celebrate the “brave Benian people as we know, with works and industrialization.”
According to the Ministry of Productive Development and Plural Economy, investments in the construction of industrial plants in the department are in the order of 700 million bolivianos (about 100 million dollars).
The resources are assigned for the construction and equipment of industrial food production plants.
On January 10th, Arce laid the foundation stone of a fish farming plant, which had an investment of more than 87 million bolivianos (about 12 million dollars), fulfilling the commitment of the national government that the department of Beni continue in the path of industrialization through the implementation of a plan announced at the end of 2022.
Based on the president´s information, thanks to this complex, the municipality of Rurrenabaque, in addition to being a tourist municipality, will have a fish farming industry that will increase production, guarantee food for the local population and the rest of the country and will generate direct and indirect jobs.
