Old Havana will host the forum, which will celebrate the 30th anniversary of drafting a Decree Law on the Office of the Historian of the City of Havana (OHCH).

The document is considered a landmark that established the basis to develop a comprehensive and sustainable management model aimed at Old Havana.

“Transiting Smart City or Wise City?” will be the main slogan of the international event, which will pay tribute to “eternal” Havana Historian Eusebio Leal Spengler.

The event will also commemorate the 15th anniversary of the Network of Offices of the Historian and the Curator of Cuba’s Heritage Cities and two decades since the establishment of this annual meeting.

Several organizations, including the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), the European Union (EU), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Barcelona City Hall, sponsored this global meeting.

The 19th International Meeting on Heritage Cities Management is also supported by the Ibero-American Center for Strategic Urban Development (CIDEU) and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).
