Certainly, we have seen China’s hand in the progress of this area and the development of our human resources, said the president, who expressed his gratitude to the Asian nation for the possibility that his country’s citizens have access to higher education there and other courses of shorter duration.
Many students, he added, have benefited from competitive training and are now building solid careers and lives in Dominica.
The Dominica State College, where students receive the highest quality education, and the commitment to build six additional schools in the coming months are indications of China’s strong support for our nation’s educational environment, he added.
Skerrit also assured that Dominica has recognized and stood firm on the one China policy, and that Beijing has been a strong supporter of his government’s efforts to develop the economy and ensure the well-being of its citizens.
