Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Wang Wenbin stressed that the G7 nations should reflect on themselves.
“It is precisely these G7 member States that have blacklisted more than 10,000 entities and individuals around the world, used state power to crack down on individual enterprises across the board, and politicized and weaponized economic and trade issues to undermine the stability of international production and supply chains,” he stressed.
He called on the group not to interfere in the South China Sea arbitration case which, in his opinion, only seeks to provoke antagonism and confrontation, “which goes against the will of the countries in the region to maintain peace and stability.”
The spokesman also referred to the part of the statement that pledges to respect the One China principle.
‘The biggest threats to peace across the Straits currently come the Democratic Progressive Party authorities in Taiwan, which have stubbornly clung to the separatist position of secession and the collusion and support of forces from abroad towards them,’ he stressed.
Wang called on the G7 to fulfill its commitment to adhering to the One China principle and act in accordance with that pledge.
