President Joe Biden says ¨No Possibility” of Gaza cease-fire

Washington, Nov 9 (Prensa Latina) President Joe Biden said Thursday that he sees no scenario in which Israel will agree to stop its military assault on Gaza in its efforts to root out Hamas militants, despite thousands of civilians being killed in the process.

This is apparently an impression given by the President, when a journalist approached him before taking the presidential helicopter on the South Lawn of the White House. The reporter asked, “What are the chances of a cease-fire in Gaza?” to which he replied, “None. No possibility.”

According to Palestinian sources, it is estimated that over 70% of 2.3 million inhabitants of the besieged Gaza Strip have already fled their homes, while the Israeli military command reported that operations are ongoing.

Israel’s war, declared against the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, entered its second month with more than 10,500 Palestinians dead, of which two thirds were women and children.

It is also estimated that 2,300 other people were buried under the rubble of the ruined territory.

President Biden, who traveled to Illinois to meet with auto workers, also said that he remained optimistic about the release of hostages held by Hamas since October 7 and also assured: “we will not stop until we get them out”. At the same time, he justified his attacks on positions of forces allied to the Syrian Army, “because they hit us” and he would do it again “if they hit us”.

In another of his comments, Joe Biden dismissed the polls that point to an alleged advantage of former President Donald Trump in five key states, which could decide upcoming year’s elections.

According to Biden, the analyses being made take only that of two media outlets (CNN and The New York Times), when eight polls indicate what is in the lead in swing states.
