Both companies presented this initiative, in line with their commitment to environmental protection and corporate social responsibility, at the Expocuba fairgrounds in Havana.
This innovative proposal, the first of its kind on the island and associated with sustainability, has an innovative technology developed by the company ecoSPIRITS and responds to the purpose of promoting a vision based on the circular economy, reducing the carbon trace and assuming a net-zero trajectory for 2050.
According to the promoters, the strategy consists of the installation of an ecoPlant at Havana Club International S.A.’s San José rum factory, aimed at filling recyclable 4.5-liter glass containers, known as ecoTote.
In addition, the hotel chain will be the host of this new technology and the collaboration will contribute to the significant reduction of carbon emissions, waste, energy consumption and use of raw materials resulting from the production, transportation of bottles and secondary packaging.
