According to reports, Ediciones Cubanas Artex is responsible for the book’s publication. At the same time, young photographer Victor Manuel Echenagusía took the snapshots.
This 208-page book will be one of the gifts to Trinidad, the third of the first seven villages founded in Cuba by the Spaniards, which will celebrate its 510th anniversary in January. Vidal explained that the volume illustrates the project’s works with photos and has a prologue written by art critic Nelson Herrera Ysla.
The outstanding painter, who is recognized nationally and internationally, added that the texts were exceptionally narrated by Cristina González Bécquer, an authorized voice to speak about lingerie and the techniques of needles in Trinidad.”
She also highlighted the work of Felicia Borrell as a producer and representative of this socio-cultural project.
Vidal stated that about 2,000 printed copies will be launched during the celebrations for the foundation of Trinidad, declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1988, along with the Valle de los Ingenios (Valley of the Sugar Mills).
