Bolivia highlights Cuban president’s presence at Fihav 2023

La Paz, Nov 8 (Prensa Latina) The Bolivian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday highlighted on its website Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel's visit to the Bolivian stand at the 39th Havana International Fair (Fihav-2023).

“On the first day of the Fair, (…) the Bolivian stand was visited by Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, who was interested in the blocks of salt from the Salar of Uyuni, one of the best tourist attractions, in addition to observing the exportable offers,” the text said.

The publication added that Bolivia’s National Day was celebrated on Tuesday with the participation of Cuban First Deputy Trade Minister Ana Teresita González, Bolivian Ambassador Yeshika Crespo, government representatives from both countries, the accredited diplomatic corps, special guests and business people.

In her speech, González celebrated the beginning, on October 26, of direct flights by Bolivian de Aviación (BOA) to Cuba, with which a regular weekly route was established from the department of Santa Cruz to Havana.

“We were infinitely happy that Bolivian business people are interested in investing in our nation came on that flight,” she said.

The deputy minister recalled the historic ties between both nations, as well as the economic complementarity agreement conceived in the context of the ExpoAladi Multisector Business Macroround since 2000, which grants 100 percent of tariff preferences.

Gonzalez emphasized that the two countries must deepen strategies to increase trade, and stressed that Fihav 2023 can open new doors to joint businesses.
