The Minister for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace, Remigio Ceballos, declared to Venezolana de Televisión that early in the morning, necessary work was done for the taking over of the penitentiary and assured that ‘it is already taken’.

He stated that they dismantled all the criminal structures that were in the prison, where an extortion center was operating for the whole country.

We have completely dismantled the place ‘leveraged by the Gran Mision Cuadrante de Paz and the Plan de Reimpulso del Sistema Penitenciario’, he underlined.

The also vice-president for Citizen Security of this sector explained that all the prisoners will be transferred to other centers in the country.

He pointed out that with the occupation of this prison, the most populated centers of the country were occupied and noted that they advanced 99.99 percent in the ‘complete occupation’ of all the prisons to enter the Penitentiary Reimpulse system.

Ceballos expressed that they continue moving forward under the precise orders of President Nicolas Maduro.
