Venceremos also delivered a letter to the US diplomatic mission condemning the imposition of illegitimate measures of economic coercion on sovereign countries, contrary to international law.

The letter points out that the economic, commercial, and financial blockade that the United States has imposed on Cuba for more than 60 years costs the Cuban people more than 400 million dollars every month.

Particularly inhumane are the measures to undermine education and health care in Cuba, including foreign medical missions that have provided humanity with a unique experience in the fight against epidemics and natural disasters, the letter adds.

Maintaining and strengthening the blockade is doubly inhumane under conditions in which Cuba is overcoming the terrible consequences of international crises and natural disasters, the text from the Venceremos Movement states.

The letter notes that the Movement fully supports the demand by the vast majority of the international community, which was expressed by 187 votes in favor by United Nations States for the thirty-first time on November 2, 2023.
