In a statement, the health institution described the aggression against the medical personnel of the Islamic Risala Scouts Association as cowardly.
According to health authority, this barbaric action is not only a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law but also a disregard for the most basic principles of humanity and ethics.
It also called on stakeholders and international organizations, particularly the United Nations, including the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), their obligations and the need to take responsibility to protect healthcare workers.
In its complaint, the Lebanese Health Ministry stated that the repeated attacks on paramedical personnel and healthcare facilities flagrantly violate the Geneva Conventions, which provide for the protection, respect, and safety of healthcare workers during the armed conflict.
In this regard, it urged the international community and the stakeholders to take immediate and decisive action to ensure that such events are not repeated.
