Press professionals debate this day the ongoing transformation of the press model and present the results to elect the organization’s presidency for the 2023-2028 period, among other activities that include the awards ceremony.
On Thursday, communication professionals debated, at the Havana-based Conference Center, about the transformations to face the intense media siege against the Cuban Revolution and the ways of contributing to the nation’s development more effectively.
Under the motto “Changes Yes, revolutionary changes,” three working commissions analyzed issues such as the role of the Cuban press in the context of a network society, the professional development and training of journalists, and UPEC’s adaptation to the challenges of the 21st century.
The Central Report on the work conducted since 2018, the commission’s report, the press communication map, and the launching of the book “Anatomías del periodismo cubano” (Anatomies of Cuban Journalism) by Flor de Paz, among other activities, were also presented.
The delegates also approved the UPEC’s Statutes and Code of Ethics.
