According to Prensa Latina, a significant moment of the visit was the meeting of the Co-Chairs of the Cuban-Russian Intergovernmental Commission for Trade, Scientific, and Technological Cooperation, which Cabrisas presided over with his Russian counterpart, Dmitry Chernyshenko.
During the meeting, the two sides reaffirmed the willingness to continue deepening the economic, commercial, financial, and cooperation relations and the leading economic projects in energy, industry, transportation, and pharmaceutical medicine, among other sectors.
Cabrisas and Chernyshenko expressed their opposition to the discriminatory policies, condemned the blockade and the unilateral measures to which they are subjected, and assessed the effect of the global economic crisis on their respective economies.
They agreed, in the current international context, the necessity to take a new look at essential issues such as maritime and air transport logistics, interbank relations, and tourist flow revival.
Documents such as the Bilateral Economic Agenda until 2023 and the Roadmap for implementing the Framework Cooperation Agreement between the two governments were signed.
During his visit to this country, Cabrisas met with Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, First Vice-Chairman of the State Duma Ivan Melnikov, Economic Advisor to Russian President Maxim Oreshkin, and leading companies that develop projects with Cuba.
