Bolivia rejects Israel’s criticism of diplomatic relations

Bolivia-Minrex
La Paz, Nov 3 (Prensa Latina) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bolivia issued a statement rejecting "categorically the inadmissible and unsustainable" statements by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel, Lior Haiat, about its sovereign decision to break diplomatic relations with the Zionist Government.

The declaration expresses that “Bolivia, guided by its Political Constitution of the State, and consistent with the principles of the Charter of the United Nations and International Law, recognizes the right to peace of all the countries of the world.” For this reason, it promotes cooperation between peoples to contribute to mutual knowledge, equitable development and the promotion of interculturality, with full respect for the sovereignty of the States.

Consequently, Bolivia rejects all war as an instrument for solving disputes between States and condemns terrorism in all its forms, regardless of nationality or the place where it occur. “Therefore, the Plurinational State of Bolivia, regarding the new phase of confrontation in the Gaza region, since last October 7th, expresses its deepest concern and calls for an immediate ceasefire.”

It also considers that life is the most precious asset that humanity has and the lives of Palestinians and Israelis have the same value.

Following United Nations resolutions, the principles of International Law and International Humanitarian Law, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bolivia calls on the Government of Israel to stop stigmatizing sovereign States and to comply with a group of precepts.

The statement mentions first of all, respect for the right to life, human rights and peace of the Palestinian people like that of all others, and demands that Israel allow the immediate entry of international organizations and countries that intend to deliver humanitarian aid and cover the basic needs of those whom Tel Aviv deprives of food, medicine, electricity, fuel and water.

It also urges Israel to comply with the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and General Assembly, especially Resolution A/ES/10L25 of October 27th, 2023, which calls for a ceasefire and to make humanitarian aid viable. “Listen to the thousands and thousands of voices of the people, of the leaders and governments of the world that call to stop the murder and genocide of Palestinians in Gaza,” the statement emphasizes.

The government of Bolivia calls for Israeli troops to stop attacking schools, hospitals and shelters for those trying to escape the bombs and weapons Israel constantly drops. “The Plurinational State of Bolivia will not silence its voice in the face of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Gaza under the false justification of legitimate defense by the government of Israel.”
