The prestigious outlet reported on the session of the United Nations General Assembly, where a repetition of the condemnation of the US government’s blockade against Cuba should take place once again.
The Uruguayan publication disclosed that the resolution titled “Need to end the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba”, reports damages to Cuba of nearly five billion dollars only between March 2022 and February 2023.
According to the report presented by Havana, the total losses to the Cuban economy amount to 159,084.3 million dollars, calculated at current prices, the Uruguayan journal reports.
Caras & Caretas asserts that Cuba is suffering from the intensification of the war policy implemented by the administration of Republican Donald Trump and which the current Democratic president, Joe Biden, has refused to put an end to.
It adds that for Cuba the difficulties are greater due to its deliberate inclusion in Washington’s list, as a state sponsor of terrorism.
