The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants criticized “the daily expansion of genocide and ethnic cleansing” in the Gaza Strip
The attacks against hospitals, shelters and schools that house tens of thousands of forcibly displaced civilians, as well as the continuous destruction of homes, at every moment, increase the number of martyrs and wounded, including children and women, the Ministry stressed.
It also rejected the violations and crimes committed by Israeli armed forces and settlers in the West Bank, where tension is growing due to the wave of bombings against the Strip.
The Ministry questioned a large part of the international community for its “timid positions, which do not exceed the circle of diagnosing a humanitarian catastrophe” in the occupied territories. “They only warn of its dimensions or express concern about the deaths,” it stressed, and stated that “the world must assume its legal and moral responsibilities, as stipulated in the UN Charter, in the face of the campaign to eliminate our people (in the Gaza Strip)”.
It also called for the protection of civilians as a prelude to allowing Palestinians to exercise their right to self-determination, including the creation of an independent state with East Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine. It also urged all countries to review their relations with Israel and apply real pressure to force it to end its war.
