After an analysis that kept citizens attentive, the plenary of magistrates from the TSE, which is in charge of the elections, was inclined to follow the voting calendar, according to a statement.
“Respecting the legal framework, after completing all three phases established within the electoral process, the electoral results were validated,” the TSE informed.
As a consequence, the process is concluded and with this, the results of the general elections and of the lawmakers at the Central American Parliament are approved in compliance with Article 245 of the Electoral and Political Parties Law, it added.
Therefore, Decree Number 5-2023 was published on Monday, “making the results official and giving legal certainty to the citizens elected for the different positions of popular suffrage.”
The TSE considered that these are unalterable and guarantee the alternation in power and strengthen the democratic regime of the nation.
It acknowledged and thanked more than 125,000 citizens who integrated the Departmental, Municipal and Voting Boards.
