Mekonnen, who arrived in Juba the day before on an official visit, during the exchange with Mayardit on views on how to elevate bilateral, multilateral and regional relations to the highest level delivered a message from Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.

Both sides agreed to enhance mutual cooperation to link Ethiopia and South Sudan through infrastructure development and explore ways to foster people-to-people relations.

After the meeting, Mekonnen and his South Sudanese counterpart, James Pitta Morgan, briefed the media at a joint press conference.
