Body: The president informed the Constitutional Court (CC) that he will move to the North American country tomorrow, where he will remain until next Friday.
Lasso will travel accompanied by the chancellor, Gustavo Manrique, and other members of his cabinet, according to the executive decree issued this Tuesday to the CC.
Likewise, the document indicates that the Andean ruler will participate in the Alliance of the Americas-IDB Responsible Investment Forum and in the I Summit of Leaders of the Alliance for Economic Prosperity in the Americas.
This will be Lasso’s 31st trip, in two years of Government and one month after leaving power. He recently traveled to Peru to meet with President Dina Boluarte within the framework of the 25th anniversary of the signing of the bilateral Peace Agreements and then went to Colombia to ask his counterpart Gustavo Petro for help to solve the energy crisis.
Lasso has received criticism from citizens and foreign policy experts for his international trips since taking office in May 2021, despite the fact that the country is mired in a political, economic, security, and now energy crisis.
