The Jerusalem Governorate denounced in a statement that this decision is part of the occupation policy targeting Palestinian political and religious figures in the occupied area of that city.

It explained that Ghaith was summoned by the intelligence institutions of the neighboring nation to inform him about their decision.

Ghaith has been under house arrest indefinitely since August 4 last year, a decision that the Palestinian Government considered a crime and a violation of international norms.

Since the official took office in 2018, he has been arrested more than 30 times by Israeli authorities, who prevent him from traveling to the West Bank and maintaining contacts with any Palestinian leaders.
