Through his account on the social network X, the president highlighted the performance of Idalys Ortiz, Andy Granda and Ivan Silva, to whom he conveyed the pride of the Caribbean nation for having the golden triad of judo players.
On that platform, he also highlighted that the duo formed by Daniela Fonseca and Jorge Moises won a spectacular title in table tennis.
Díaz-Canel stressed that “36 years have passed since Cuba’s last gold medal in Table Tennis. I proudly embrace you, champions”.
With the four gold medals obtained the day before, Cuba sums up 11 in the Pan American Games, to reaffirm its sixth place by countries in the general medal list.
