“Powerlessness is usually a certain expression of inability to achieve an unattainable goal. Sometimes it manifests itself as resignation, but at other times, as ruthless fury, it appears when recognizing the impossibility of realizing abstract utopias,” the community said in a statement.
The latter are those that are never likely to become true, while concrete utopias are those that at one time seem impossible, but at another one become reality, the text added.
“Numerous presidents of the United States of America since the beginning of this powerful nation did not hide the voracity of its geophagia, devouring neighboring lands from which Cuba did not escape,” the press release recalled.
It added that many of them dreamed of the abstract utopia of Cuba becoming another star on the American flag.
“The saddest thing is that some people born in Cuba, but with their hearts beating for their annexationist anxiety, provoked the justified contempt of Apostle José Martí.
The most universal of all Cubans said in this regard:
“They say that people from our lands have often come to offer the United States, in exchange for this or that support, pieces of our territory; and it would be good to know who they were, to make a pillory that would reach the clouds and put in it their names in very black letters.”
These are the same ones that currently justify the unjust, criminal and illegal blockade of the North American rulers, condemned by the overwhelming majority of the countries of the world, in numerous declarations at the United Nations General Assembly, warned the Association, which will once again analyze this inhumane policy of successive US Governments in these next few days.
Meanwhile, the Cuban people persist – in the most difficult conditions amid efforts to suffocate them economically – in building the concrete utopia of a more humane and more supportive society, as it has demonstrated on countless occasions, when other sister nations have demanded it, it stressed.
“History will say the last word, if Goliath will be able to defeat little David,” the Association of Cuban Residents in Colombia stressed.
