“It is a pleasure to welcome Yván Gil, Minister of the People’s Power for Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of #Venezuela @_AfricanUnion Commission. We had a fruitful conversation on our common interests and are committed to strengthening and expanding the existing partnership,” Nsanzabaganwa wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Gil also held talks with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on his official visit to the African country to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation.
The head of Venezuelan diplomacy arrived in Addis Ababa Sunday from the Republic of Congo after participating in the Three Basins Summit on Biodiversity, Ecosystems, and Tropical Forests. He will also visit Rwanda, Uganda, and Egypt as part of a tour of the continent.
Gil met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Demeke Mekonnen on Monday; he stressed that the two nations are at an ideal stage to take a step further by moving to bilateral exchanges, as meetings with several ministries are planned.
