The state news agency KCNA reported on Monday that numerous previous greetings were received, including those from organizations from Belarus, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Guinea, Bangladesh and Myanmar.
The signatories paid tribute to President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, noting that Kim Jong Un is the steadfast follower of the cause of socialism in North Korea.
The WPK was founded on October 10, 1949, with the merger of the Workers’ Party of North Korea and the Workers’ Party of South Korea. Its first general secretary was Kim Il Sung.
On the occasion of the anniversary, lectures, seminars and events were held in many countries on all continents to celebrate the birth of the political organization that rules the destiny of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).
The DPRK has been successfully drawing up and implementing economic, social and defense policies to ensure national sovereignty and the people’s prosperity, local media reported.
