Cuban residing in Nicaragua calls for defending Cuba

Managua, Oct 30 (Prensa Latina) The president of the Association of Cuban Residents in Nicaragua, Rafael Ruiz, affirmed that should actively defend the Revolution, as Cuba is growing through a complex economic crisis.

In an interview with Prensa Latina regarding the upcoming 4th conference on the nation and immigration, to be held in Havana on November 18th and 19th, Ruiz highlighted its importance at a time when the United States blockade against Cuba has tightened.

“Cubans residing in Nicaragua have participated in two of these events and we are ready to attend this fourth with the question what more can we do for the homeland,” he said.

He spoke of the daily actions that he and his compatriots in Nicaragua carry out together with solidarity organizations against the blockade imposed by the US on Cuba.

He also highlighted the collection of medical supplies to send to Cuba and circumvent the blockade, which they have done multiple times, even in the most complex times Cuba experienced during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“This is a moment of unity for the homeland, Cubans who emigrated to Europe in Latin America and everywhere, we have to support campaigns to help Cuba and also against the media war that tries to discredit the Government and the Revolution”, he stated.

He assured that Cuba can count on Cubans residing in Nicaragua, and added that the perspective for the upcoming event is to maintain the dialogue promoted in 1978 by Fidel Castro Ruz.

Ruiz urged Cubans abroad to maintain the daily struggle and explain what the policy of the blockade is all about, and what it means for a nation being in the list of states sponsors of terrorism from the economic standpoint.
