EOM, which covers 35 regions, is made up of 58% women, 41% men. Likewise, 96 people from 19 nations are part of the international observation coordinated by this organization.
One of EOM’s task is to help the disabled population overcome obstacles at turning out to vote.
For this purpose, a team of 48 people with hearing, intellectual and psychosocial disabilities will be deployed to observe in Valle del Cauca, Santander, Antioquia and Bogota.
For the first time, for these elections, EOM will carry out differential observation for people with ethnic/racial affiliation, also trans and disable people. In this sense it has observers deployed in the departments of Chocó, Cauca, Cesar, La Guajira, Amazonas, Bolívar and Guainía.
As in the previous electoral cycle, the EOM will carry out an observation with a differential approach focused on trans and disabled persons, and will have 87 persons in this condition who will observe the Trans Voting Protocol.
