In a report by Xinhua news agency, the president asked government authorities and the Communist Party of China to improve people’s livelihoods and ensure that the benefits of development are distributed fairly among ethnic groups.

“It is necessary to establish a solid scientific and theoretical system for the Chinese national community,” Xi said.

In the leader’s view, it is necessary to cultivate “the awareness that people of all ethnicities are in the same community, where they share joys and misfortunes and stand together in good and bad times.”

He also urged integrating Marxist ethnic theories with China’s specific realities and traditional culture.
