Gaza under fire by air, land and sea

Ramallah, Oct 28 (Prensa Latina) The Israeli army began to operate on a large scale in the Gaza Strip, in what seems to be the beginning of its land invasion against the coastal enclave, under fire for 22 days.

Using aircraft, ships and artillery, last night, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) launched the largest and most intense bombardment of the territory since October 7.

Media on both sides of the border agreed this morning that the massive bombardment continues after 12 hours.

Since yesterday afternoon there has been very little information on the situation in Gaza following the collapse of communications and the Internet due to the bombings.

In a related context, the Palestine Red Crescent Society announced that communications with the Society’s operations room in the Strip were completely cut off.

Precisely, the Palestinian Telecommunications Company confirmed the total interruption of its services there.

The intense bombardment of the last hour led to the destruction of all remaining international routes connecting Gaza to the outside world, the company denounced.

In the midst of this scenario, heavy fighting between Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) militiamen and IDF troops in the Beit Hanoun and al-Bureij areas took place during the night.

Several Arab television stations showed images of the explosions and long plumes of smoke in several populated areas in the north of that coastal enclave, where 2.3 million Palestinians live.

The sources reported that they became dependent on satellites to transmit the images and communicate with their correspondents.
