It is the first direct flight between the two countries in more than 15 years, and its official launching took place on Tuesday at the Václav Havel airport of this capital, an event attended by Cuban Ambassador Saylín Martínez.
In that meeting, Cuba’s top representative in the Czech Republic met with the main figures in charge of this operation during the winter season, included in a project of trips to three destinations considered as exotic.
The organizers of this initiative are Exim Tours and Fischer, from Der Touristik Group, one of the leading tourism groups in Europe.
The flight will be operated by the Spanish airline World2Fly on an Airbus A350-900, one of the most modern airliners available today, with a capacity of 432 passengers.
The flights will depart from Bratislava, with a stopover in Prague and direct to the city of Santa Clara, 261 kilometers east of Havana.
