Turkish President cancels visit to Israel

Ankara, Oct 25 (Prensa Latina) Because of the intense attacks by Israeli forces against the Gaza Strip, the President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, canceled a visit to Tel Aviv, the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) reported.

Erdogan announced that he will not make his state visit to Israel because Türkiye was always an anti-racist country and defended the truth. He pronounced the importance of truth for his nation and assured that if diplomatic means do not work, his government will use military means.

During the large national assembly in this capital, the president gave a speech to explain in detail the situation in Gaza and said that he accepts the existence of the State of Israel, but condemned the actions of his government and its forces, according to TRT.

In his speech he particularly highlighted the high number of children killed (some 2,300), which accounts for almost half of the Palestinian fatalities. In addition, he considered the human rights violations as a deliberate act.

Then, the president also addressed Western nations by describing Hamas not as a terrorist group, but as resistance fighters fighting to protect their land and their people, according to the aforementioned news outlet.

The Gaza Health Ministry stated that the ongoing offensive by Tel Aviv forces killed 755 people on this day, in the most massive attack since October 7, it said.
