According to the national Coordinator of the Ecuadorian Confederation of Heavy Transport (FENATRAPE) Rene Gomez, the measure will be in force at 00:00, local time, and insisted on his request to the Government to provide the necessary guarantees to this sector.

Gomez reiterated that drivers working in the sector need the Government militarizes accesses to ports and highways in order to thwart them from being assaulted, kidnapped and even murdered.
