Djibouti’s FM reiterates solidarity and support for Palestine

Djibouti, Oct 25 (Prensa Latina) Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, expressed on Wednesday Djibouti's solidarity with Palestinian Ambassador here, Ruwaid Abu Amsha, over the recent Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip.

Youssouf strongly condemned the indiscriminate acts of violence that caused unnecessary suffering to innocent civilians and called for an immediate cessation of hostilities and the resumption of negotiations to find a peaceful solution to the Israeli-Hamas conflict.

Amsha, in turn, thanked Djibouti’s support and stressed the importance of international solidarity to end the violence and achieve lasting peace in the region.

The meeting reflected Djibouti’s continued commitment to peace and stability in the Middle East and its willingness to support efforts to end conflict and promote dialogue.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced this Wednesday that 6,504 people have been killed and some 19,000 were injured due to the Israeli army and settlers’ attacks in the occupied territories since October 7.

According to the latest report on the humanitarian situation, the Ministry stated that 6,400 people died in the Gaza Strip, which has been the target of a wave of bombardments for 19 days.

Meanwhile, 104 people have died in the West Bank due to actions by Israeli settlers and soldiers. The text denounced that 70 percent of the dead are children, senior citizens, and women.
