During the meeting, which was also attended by the director of Multilateral Cooperation of the Foreign Ministry Mandkhai Batsuren, the parties reviewed information related to the visit to Cuba in September of President Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh for the G77 and China Summit.
Ferrer and Gombosuren agreed on the importance of Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh’s presence on the island for the promotion of bilateral relations, said a report from the Caribbean nation’s embassy.
The Cuban diplomat took the opportunity to thank once again on behalf of his government for Mongolia’s contribution to the success of the G77 Summit in Havana, its historic position against the U.S. blockade against the island and mutual cooperation in international organizations.
Both sides reaffirmed the common will to continue developing the traditional and lasting relations of friendship and cooperation in various spheres, the diplomatic source said.
During his visit to the Caribbean nation in September, the Mongolian president was received by his Cuban counterpart, Miguel Díaz-Canel, who expressed his satisfaction for his presence on the island.
You and your people are very dear to Cuba, said the Cuban head of state during official talks at the Palace of the Revolution. In turn, Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh pointed out that although Cuba and his country are geographically distant, “their peoples are very close.”
