Cuba and Burundi strengthen ties at Inter-Parliamentary Union meeting

Luanda, Oct 25 (Prensa Latina) Deputies to the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba and representatives of the Burundi Parliament today discussed the strengthening of relations between their respective legislative bodies.

In the context of the 147th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), the president of the Senate of Burundi, Emmanuel Sinzohagera, spoke with the heads of the Cuban Legislative Commissions dedicated to International Relations and Health and Sports, Rolando Gonzalez and Cristina Luna Morales, respectively.

During the event, which took place at the headquarters of the National Assembly of Angola, both parties discussed the possible signing of a memorandum of understanding between the parliaments to strengthen cooperation.

They also referred to the celebration, in February next year, of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations between the two countries.
