At the Square of Democracy in San Pedro de Montes de Oca town, people from health, educational, trade unions, public universities, agricultural sectors gathered to then go to the Presidential House.
Called by the National Dialogue Table, the march was joined by other provinces such as the Caribbean Limon province and the western Puntarenas province and people from other localities in the capital, to join the final destination, the seat of Government.
Protesters’ banners claimed, “Without education there is no development! Enough cuts! The educational sector was especially demanding its state budget, one of the Costa Rican conquests almost eight decades ago.
While demonstrators reached their final destination at the Presidential House, the usual Wednesday press conference, scheduled after the Council of Government, was taking place there.
Costa Rican trade unions will deliver a letter to President Rodrigo Chaves there, listing their demands as well as possible solutions.
