The brave CPVC combatans fought shoulder to shoulder with the Korean People’s Army against the common enemy, noted the Rodong Sinmun newspaper, the official organ of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK).
The traditional friendship between the two countries, forged during the fighting against Japanese occupiers, became stronger during the Korean War (1950-1953) as they shared the same trenches and the same fate, the newspaper noted on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the beginning of the contributions from the CPVC members.
Minju Joson, spokesman for the Government and the Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly, said that the sacrifices of the soldiers from the two countries are the sacred foundation on which the historic ties between the two peoples are based.
Last September, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the DPRK, WPK General Secretary Kim Jong-Un sent a message of gratitude to Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party and President of the People’s Republic of China.
