Western silence led to Gaza crisis, Turkish president states

Ankara, Oct 24 (Prensa Latina) The silence of the Western powers led to the current humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan noted, the office of the head of State reported on Tuesday.

The sources added that Erdogan had spoken over the telephone with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, with whom he analyzed the tension in the Middle East, where Israel has been bombing for 14 days that Palestinian region, where more than two million people live.

The escalation of the confrontation between Israel and the Islamic resistance movement Hamas, which launched an operation against several areas under Tel Aviv’s control on October 7, and the humanitarian crisis were among the main topics discussed by the two statesmen.

In the operation by the military wing of Hamas, more than 1,000 Israelis were killed, according to sources from Prime Minister Benjamin Netayanhu’s government, which is threatening to launch a ground operation in northern Gaza.
