The 2030 Agenda of the United Nations aims at the conservation and sustainable use of oceans, seas, and marine resources, and its sixth goal includes tackling illegal and excessive fishing.
In this regard, Cuba stressed that by prohibiting harmful fishing subsidies, overcapacity and overfishing, the instrument contributes to the sustainability of the oceans.
