The performances are part of the wide and varied program prepared by the National Ballet of Cuba (BNC) directed by prima ballerina Viengsay Valdés to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the prestigious company.
As part of the presentations that will last until tomorrow, the first act of “Coppélia”, the second act of “Swan Lake” and the third act of “Don Quixote”, three classics of international dance, will be performed.
The celebrations for more than seven decades are part of this “Jubilee Season”, as the BNC called the extensive program of celebration of this company, founded in 1948.
In recent weeks, the National Ballet of Cuba has been showcasing its history through photographs and film productions and the presentation of books.
The emblematic institution of Cuban culture has resumed its encounters with the Cuban people in hospitals and study and work centers; it shares, explains and reveals its art, as in the times of Alicia, Fernando Alonso and Alberto Alonso.
