Massa was most voted in Argentine elections, but runoff will follow

Buenos Aires, Oct 22 (Prensa Latina) The presidential candidate for Unión por la Patria (UP), Sergio Massa, today obtained more than 36 percent in the general elections of Argentina and will face Javier Milei, of La Libertad Avanza, in Second round.

According to official data, with 83.26 percent of the tables scrutinized, the current Minister of Economy surpasses Milei by six points, who has so far registered 30.3 points.

Meanwhile, the representative of Together for Change (JxC), Patricia Bullrich, was left out of the runoff after reaching 23.7 and finishing in third place.

For his part, Juan Schiaretti, from Hacemos por Nuestro País, obtained 7.2, and the leader of the Left Front and Workers-Unity, Myriam Bregman, 2.7.

In the case of the province of Buenos Aires, UP member Axel Kicillof leads the count in the fight to be governor with 45.12 and in Catamarca Raúl Jalil would win with more than 53.

In this capital, Jorge Macri, from JxC, occupies first place among the candidates for head of Government with 49 points.

Participation exceeded 77 percent of a register of 35 million 410 thousand 80 voters.

The second round is scheduled for November 19.
